Stock Market Challenge

Stock Market Challenge is a competitive, team-based game that can be adapted to suit different age groups and learning environments. It can be run in-school both to support subject teaching and as an enrichment activity for larger groups.
Working in teams, students operate on a simulated stock market trading floor giving them access to the unique intensity and excitement of trading on the financial markets.
The different roles in the game (Finance Manager, Investment Analyst, Media Analyst and Floor Trader) require different skills, making the game ideal for mixed ability groups of pupils.
As they trade, teams receive news reports about their investments from TV and radio news bulletins and a news website. Players have to analyse this information and make their investment decisions accordingly. Each trading day lasts for about 20 minutes in real time and as the clock ticks down, with prices changing frequently, the pressure is on for players to make the right investment decisions at the right time.

Stock Market Challenge brings to life many aspects of the Maths and Business Studies Curricula. It is also guaranteed to develop Enterprise Skills and Financial Capability and it delivers an authentic Work-Related Learning experience.
The time-pressured environment creates an effective and rewarding learning experience which enhances the development of skills such as team-working and communication.
