According to the people who make the rules, there needs to be an improvement in the teaching of PSHE and Citizenship for KS3 and KS4 students. Milieu is here to help, but just in case you're not meeting your KS2 agenda, Milieu could help there too.
Designed to get your students thinking, discussing and researching lots of different aspects of society the cards cover such issues as environmental sustainability, politics, sociology, moral judgement, geography, enterprise, common sense, financial literacy, law and more...
Use them as you please however we have found that things work well when classes are split into teams and a student is asked to choose a card at random. The teams can discuss the topic for a while (5-10 minutes depending on the content of the card) and then you can hold an open discussion with the teams, or get a representative from each team to air their views.
If, for some reason, the topic chosen is dealt with quickly then it's no problem; just choose another card. There are 50 to choose from in the KS3/4 version and 37 in the KS2 one, and because they're made from durable laminated card, these A5 cards can be used again and again.
