CharityBuilder
CharityBuilder is a full day programme based around learning through doing, and includes a number of unique individual and team-based activities. With an emphasis on building community relations and giving your students an outlet for their enterprising product it also brings together links for citizenship and PHSE as well as helping a cause that is close to the heart of your school.
Teamwork, negotiation, analysis and communication are all skills that will be enhanced by this programme as students decide which Charity best deserves their help. This can be done using real local charities or examples provided within the course material. This is ideal for any level of school student but could also be used as a Family Learning and Interaction Event.
The event will see either, local charities coming in to present why your school should produce a saleable product to increase their revenue or, use our own case studies to determine the same. The students will then debate which charity should benefit from their hard work. Once this decision has been made the students will work in teams to create and market a product from scratch. Using a variety of moulds, colours perfumes and packaging, the teams will be able to sell the fruits of their labours: colourful and individual soap products.
The activity can be run with groups of up to 120 students split into 4 x 'manufacturing zones' - we don't even need labs or special equipment to be provided.
